Need ideas for bridal showers in upstate NY!!!

Hello-

I just got married this past August, and my MOH is now engagged and has asked me to be her MOH... I've been searching for places in the Saratoga and Lake George area but am not opposed else where. Her wedding will be at the Lake George Club and I was trying to stick to the Lake George theme. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of having her shower either on a boat tour ( seemed too pricey) at a winery ( cant seem to find one that does brunches) or at a Lake House. Any suggestions would be GREAT. I want this to be perfect for her as she did such a great job with mine. There are 8 girls in the wedding party and we are all chipping in, im aiming for a $2,000 at the most budget and there around approx. 50 people who we are inviting. We are looking at a weekend in August, 2011 for the shower.

Thank you for the help!!!Laughing

The boat tour sounds nice, that woudl be nice. A friend of mine is having a Tea Party Bridal Shower at teh Saratoga Inn in April. I like that you are sticking to the Lake George Theme. I would check out Adirondack Winery on Route 9 righ in Lake George. I heard they expanded and if they did not I am sure they would go to where you found a spot. They do tastings and such and their wine is made right in Lake George. www.adirondackwinery.com

The Holiday Inn and Fort William Henry may let you use a room for the bridal shower.

Check out the Log Jam in Lake George. It's a great place, they have a private room in the back that might hold 50 and if you do lunch there it shouldn't be too expensive.

Inn at Erlowest and Sagamore are really nice but im assuming very pricey! If you were to consider Saratoga then i would say Longfellows or Prime at Saratoga National Golf.

Saratoga National Gold Club is amazing!!!  We are having our reception there.  But I know they do smaller events, like showers.  The venue is gorgeous!

I'm not sure how adventurous you are, but I've asked my MOH to plan with this in mind - I think it looks like a blast!

If you're open to checking out venues that are not in saratoga or lake george, look at Key Hall at Proctors in schenectady, they're new so they have lots of dates and im sure would work with your budget to make it work (they are teh same company as saratoga national golf club- so great food and service!)
