My boyfriend of three and half years asked me to marry him on my birthday (February 23). He is going to school about three hours away from me and I thought he had forgotten about my birthday, because he didn't call me or get me anything. At about 7pm my sister tells me I have a package.I was expecting it was something I'd ordered myself. I open it without even looking at the label and inside is the ring. I was so shocked I'm told I audibly gasped. Then my fiance comes out from around the corner gets on one knee and ask me. I was still so shocked I asked him if he was serious, then of course I said yes.
Sorry that was so long, I'm pretty excited. We have tentatively set a date for next June. I do have one question. Is it acceptable to have an engagement party six months after the engagement? My sister has offered to host one, but she is out of town until August.
