Our neighbor across the hall just emailed me (we live in a 4-plex and she works for the same company but in a different division/building) regarding a home invasion and sexual assault in our neighborhood last week. She had just heard about it and forwarded the link. So we correspond back and forth a little about it, then she writes,
Oh, I also been meaning to ask you. I've had a couple friends over a couple nights to play cards, I always try to keep everyone quiet, but I wanted to check with you to make sure we weren't too loud or anything.Truth is she's had several people over the last 4 of 5 weekends and, while we don't hear them in her apartment, they are really noisy in the hallway. They are smokers and come in and out all night, slamming doors and stomping up and down the steps. (They must go outside to smoke) This has happened until 3 or 4 in the morning on some occassions. I haven't seen her at all in the past few weeks to say something to her so now she's asking. I need to respond and let her know they are bothering us but want to keep it friendly.
