Need a ceremony venue on a budget

Hey everyone,
So we have our reception site booked (Lakefront Brewery) and are in need of a ceremony site.  We don't belong to a church but would like to get married in an INDOOR venue.   Our wedding is August 25, 2012.  The problem I keep running into it that most places want you to book a reception there too or they'll charge you $1000+.  We're only planning on having a 30min or so ceremony! Any ideas that won't cost us an arm and a leg?
Thanks,
Kelley

I talked to the Rosebud Cinema Drafthouse in Tosa - they were $500ish I think.  If I remember, you had to be out of there by 3.

That would definitely work with our budget and time frame - thanks for the idea.  I've never even heard of this place - but by the looks of their website - isn't it a movie theater? That would be a really unique set up for a ceremony! They actually do ceremonies though?

It is a movie theater (the one DH and I love to go to - near our house).  They do weddings - seems like they have a few a year there.

Weddings are beautiful there. I was a guest, not a photographer, at one there and it was stunning. It has that beautiful vintage feel in areas, but modern amenities. And well worth the money!

I think a wedding at the Rosebud would be gorgeous! I had a sorority sister get married in the Camp Pow Wow Pavilion in Menomonee Falls (http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/defaultwc.aspx?id=39638) and that was really nice. The Milwaukee County Parks (http://county.milwaukee.gov/Upto60People9026.htm#boernergardenhouse) appear to have some nice options as well.

Wow - you ladies sure are helpful! I was feeling so lost and stuck for the past few weeks searching endlessly...  I'm contacting Rosebud and Camp Pow Wow today! The closer to downtown the betterfor us - but at this point I feel like I'll take what I can get.  I'm just amazed how expensive some places downtown can be for such a short ceremony! I understand they want couples to book the whole day though (reception, too).  We'd love something unique - and both of these places sound like it - I haven't seen either in person.  Keep the ideas coming - much appreciated!!

Just a thought out of left field here - The Grohmann Museum at MSOE has a rooftop garden - not sure if they do rentals.  It is right downtown.

ETA - Ooops - you were looking for indoor - they might have space there or in our of their other buildings.

Not really unique, but you could also look at spaces at UWM.

We just booked our ceremony at the Polish Center of Wisconsin in the great hall. It's located in Franklin.

It's $200 (plus $50 for the bride room to get ready if you need it) for 2-3 hours.  They simply asked if we were looking to hold our reception there and when I said no, they didn't ask further.  The only catch is that you have to find someone to do your music...they said if you put it on a disc all someone has to do it press play...we are having our florist (who will be there anyway)...she volunteered.

They have a little garden behind the windows and a pond so the pictures are great.  Our friends had their ceremony there a couple years ago too.

They book up fast so I would call ASAP if you are interested.

For a photo go to the Gallery and look for Great Hall: http://www.polishcenterofwisconsin.org/gallery.html

For contact info go to: http://www.polishcenterofwisconsin.org/contact.html

    Good luck!!!
