Beach wedding in South Bay or others

Hi,
My fiance and are very recently engaged. As such we are in the very beginning stages of planning. What we do know is that we want to have a beach wedding. On the beach or overlooking, preferably, but also a nice outdoor event.
I was looking for recommendations for venues (most specifically in the South Bay area). If it were on the beach we would prefer a setting that does not lend itself to the possibility of lots of outsiders (people sun bathing around the ceremony, etc).
Any suggestions would be very welcome.

    Hi,
On the beach you might have sun bathers and such but there are lots of places that over look the ocean.  La Venta in Palos Verdes, Hotel Maya Long Beach, Reef Long Beach.  I'm sure Manhattan Beach has hotels that overlook the ocean.  Good Luck!

We are having our wedding at Verandas, which is two blocks from the beach. They have an option to have a beach wedding, although we are not doing this. There are no hotels overlooking the beach in Manhattan Beach, although I believe Shade Hotel can arrange beach weddings. I have heard they are severly overpriced, so I would avoid them.
You could also try the Chart House, in Redondo Beach, and the Redondo Beach HIstorical Library, athough this is in a public park hence lots of people.

    Good luck!

I found the Long Beach Museum of Art to be very cost-friendly and pretty.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My fiance is checking out Shutters in Santa Monica and Sand and Sea in Laguna today.

Have you looked at La Palapa in Belmont Shores? It is on the beach. Not sure when you are thinking of having your wedding but I have mine there in October and there were no beach goers, you might have a bit more if it is in the middle of summer. HTH
