Guestbook

Where did you get your guestbook?  Did you do something different or traditional?  I was thinking about doing an engagement photo guestbook, but it is very expensive.  I saw some cute ones on etsy tonight that are causing me to reconsider.

Our photographer offered us a VERY nice engagement photo gustbook and we bit the bullet and purchased it. It was WELL worth it! He did such a fantastic job and I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it.

Etsy had tons of ideas that I used as inspiration. Ultimately I decided to buy these postcards (vintage book covers) and let people write us messages/favorite memories and I'm gonig to put them in a photo album afterwards

Couldn't you make the engagement photobook yourself? Print out your engagement pictures and put it in a scrap book album and then on the day of the wedding take the pages out so people could sign?

I don't know if that is possible, but would definitely save you some money. We want to do a photobooth and have everyone sign in an album next to their pictures.

Our photography package came with the e-pic guest book, but, we also received an engraved traditional guest book as a gift, so we are using that, and the money from the e-pics guest book will go towards other photography stuff instead (either additional hours or a bigger wedding album).

Our photographer made one for us using our engagement photos and graphics from our invites. We negotiated it as part of our package, and it looks so good! We have it out as a coffee table book and still look through it. I recently had some co-workers over and one of the first things when they came into the living room was pick it up and look through it (and afterwards begged to see the wedding album).

My photographer wants about $400 (with discount already included), but my mom thinks I won't care about it later on when I have the wedding pics.  If FI knew how much, he would be mad.  I'm having a vintage English garden style wedding, so I'm afraid slick products such as this will look out of place.  I've looked into handmade guestbooks on etsy and am having success.  Plus they are much cheaper.  I don't own the rights to our e pics and wasn't planning on purchasing them especially if I get the guest book from the photographer.

We made a photo-guestbook on snapfish and it was maybe $45 with better shipping (I don't trust USPS so I paid for FedEx/UPS 2-Day) and it turned out great...much cheaper and still great quality.

I would recommend it it to anyone.
