Need a really basic (and cheap!) photobooth

I'd love recommendations for a super basic photo booth. Like the kind that you find at the mall. It only takes black and white photos, poor quality, etc. Nothing fancy.

Any ideas?

I'm confused why you want poor quality photos?  That just doesn't make sense to me...  Not to mention I don't think any company would offer poor quality photos because they wouldn't stay in business very long if they produced a bad product.

But the most popular photo booths are shutterbooth.com and rockthebooth.com although I don't think any photobooths are going to fall into the "cheap" category.

Exactly, why would you want bad quality. Wouldn't you want the best quality for your budget?
I am using Pix Photo Booth, They are less expensive but not poor quality.

  • Agreed with the other two. What is your budget?? rockthebooth is a great company. My photographer started his own photo booth, I think he is around $450 ish or so. Jason Laurain Photography. I do not know his quality, etc as I have not seen his photo booth work.

  • You can make your own!  I bought a backdrop, props, and chalkboard signs to write on for next to nothing.  (I'm actually selling them, so if you want details then let me know.)  I've also heard good things about Rock the Booth.  Also check Groupon...good deals pop up there for photobooths.

  • Haha! Sorry ladies. I should have done a better job explaining. I'm throwing a big bday party for a friend. As kids, we always used to go to the mall and take funny black & white pictures in the photo booth. We have tons of strips from growing up together.  It would be fun for her and the guests to have a bunch of silly shots from the party. We don't need a fancy scrapbook or digital files. Just something more nostaglic. I'm going for the "kitsch" factor rather than the fancy favors/guestbook quality stuff you'd want at your wedding.

I was hoping you ladies would have come across some random vintage photo booth like this: classicphotobooth.net but not $1,000. Thanks!!
  • I used Foto Fun from a Groupon that I bought last summer. It was 2 sisters just starting out so I paid $200 for 3 hours. There have been a few other new companies that are starting out and have been on Groupon. I was pretty happy with Groupon for the cost. Wasn't the absolute best, but for the money it was perfect.
