Urgh!

So my RSVP deadline was yesterday (Monday) and I still have 28 people who have not RSVPed....every SINGLE one of them is from FI side of the family who pitched a fit over invites anyway. They were constantly asking when I was sending them out in JANUARY, I sent them out the last week of February. Everyone knew the date in case they needed to request off work.

Pretty much non of FI family is coming, and a couple of them have even posed the question of, "why do I need to send an RSVP if I'm not coming?" Seriously? Have you EVER been to a wedding? I am so beyond frustrated with his family right now it's going to take a week in Hawaii to calm down enough not to throttle them all! Lol

I keep reminding myself, "Breath in, breath out, 25 days...."

Re: Urgh!

  • I have the same problem, was missing 30 people at my RSVP date.  I'm at the point now where I'd loooooove to see my non-responsive guests (after multiple contacts) show up to my wedding and have no place to sit and no meal to eat.  I don't usually feel joy at other people's embarassment, but in this situation I would.  I don't care if that makes me a terrible person, so be it!

  • That has been my personal favorite response as well. People practically demand invitations, then when you ask where their RSVP is they say "oh, I'm not coming so I don't know why I would take the time to send it in." Oh, you mean that pre addressed and stamped envelope that I've paid for? Idiots.

  • I've had so many people "RSVP" by texting, emailing, calling FI's mom, saying it in passing when we see each other at a gathering... it's rediculous :P One of FI's uncles said "well, I'm coming, there, that's my RSVP, why do I have to send that little mail thing anyways?" FI's mom tried to explain to him that we need a paper record of it so that we can have it all together and that the envelope was already stamped and he said "I live in the country, I don't go by mail boxes often"...we never got a paper RSVP from him:P

    good grief.

  • Yeah. It's super annoying. My RSVP date is Friday and I'm still missing 53 people, 43 of whom are my family/people I invited. WTF, people! Get it together.
