Deployment Blogs?

Hi ladies!  I am getting ready for my first deployment with my fiance and I thought I'd see if anyone kept / keeps a blog about their deployment experiences?  I'd love to follow if you do -- I am looking for people who've faced the same thing to hear about their experiences, etc., but am having a hard time finding any!

I just started one of my own as (Love From Home) as a way to stay busy while he's gone... we'll see how it goes!

Thanks! =)

I think it is a really tough thing to blog about as there isn't much you can (or should) say except what you are doing at home - you can't really post anything he tells you or when he calls and when he can't call, or any specifics of when and where or how. Maybe read a book? I don't know any, but these ladies might have some suggestions. They're also a great resource as many have been through deployments before (several are currently going through them or just finished or about to start). If it helps, keep a journal, just keep it private and don't put it on the Internet anywhere.

I'm with Calindi. I haven't seen any and I wouldn't personally write one about that for security reasons. I have started a blog and I'm sure I will mention my frustration about deployments etc. but If you start a blog for that purpose only I can see you accidentally saying things you shouldn't and running out of things to talk about very fast. If you write a blog in general it may be better to distract you but keep you away from undesirable topics.

haha I trust myself to be good about the OPSEC side of things. I DON'T trust myself to NOT ramble on and on about random stuff..  >_< So that's a no from me  :P

I blog, but not about deployment, or anything.  Mine's more a lifestyle blog (because lets face it, my H is not on a deployment.. he's just stationed far away)..  But I added yours to my daily reads!

I blog as well. About planning and stuff. but I don't think I would ever blog about a deployment
Military Brides December 2011 Siggy. Holiday picture with your SO. We suck and don't have one :/ Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.

I think it's a great idea that you're blogging about your experience during your loved one's deployment. It doesn't have to be about the specifics of his deployment obviously, but not many peole understand what it's like to be the one left at home. My fiance just deployed three days ago, which really puts a damper in wedding planning without him, at least the physical stuff. Keep writing :)
