Twogether in Texas?

Did any of you do this?

We are already doing pre-marital counseling with our Pastor. However, I was wondering if it was worth it just for the discount on the marriage license?

We did ours through the church. They give you a certificate, that works the same as the twogether in Texas course. You might check with your pastor to see if they offer the 8 hour course. If they don't other churches will allow you to do thiers. I think the cost is almost the same for the course and the certificate-- we paid about 30 for a book and and 20 for the class.

You have to go on the Twogether in Texas website. If your pastor's program is listed as an acceptable alternative, he can give you the certificate of completion. Not all churches have their program approved by the state though, so if it's not you will need to also complete the 8 hour program.

I'm going to be honest, we did both programs because our church's wasn't approved by the state, and we got SO much more out of Twogether than we did from our church (but, that's just our specific church though).

Good luck! The best place to start is looking for your church's program on the website of Twogether, then if you don't see it asking your pastor or the secretary at your church.

We did - it was a long 8 hours but it was kind of fun and since it's free AND you don't have to pay so much for the license if you present the certificate it's totally worth it. There was def some useful content in the course & we met a few nice other couples while getting to spend some QT time together in the process.
