So I'm Filipino, but not Catholic. We're thinking of somehow incorporating the "Wedding Lasso" or "Unity Cord" tradition in our ceremony. But I have 2 dilemmas...
1) I don't want the cord around my neck. I'm afraid that it will mess up my hair or veil. I've read that you can drape the lasso around your hands. That sounds just like hand-fasting though. Is it? Also, I can't find pictures of this online. Have you ever seen a lasso ceremony where they drape the cord on the hands as opposed to the neck?
2) We're not religious and can't find any kind of wording for this ceremony that isn't Catholic. Do you have any ideas?
