Oh its Friday

Hey girls, happy Friday!!!!! With lots of people planning their honeymoons, I thought it'd be nice if we could all share the best things we've ever done on vacation. Can be multiple places too. Maybe this will give some other ladies ideas of things to so and see on their HM.

Re: Oh its Friday

  • In Jamaica, we went to Dunns River Falls, and it was awesome. We climbed up the falls, not as hard as it looks, slid down rock slides, and jumped into deep parts of the river. We bought the video too which was cool. In Antigua, we took a helicopter ride over the Montserrat volcano. It was expensive, but it was AMAZING and really humbling. In the Bahamas, we took a speed boat to exuma, uninhabited islands. It was the most beautiful beach I'd ever seen. There were sandollars in the water, it was crystal clear, and we fed sharks. We also stopped at iguana island, where only iguanas live, AMD fed them grapes.I want to go back sooo bad. And in st maarten we went to this beachright by the airport. The planes literally fly right over right before they land. You can feel the push of air from them and the ground shaking. It was really awesome to see and feel the power.

  • In Paris, we went to Disneyland Paris. haha. It was cold, but it was still really packed with long lines. The best thing about it was that the Marriott Village near there is dead (and cheap) in the winter, accessible by train to Paris and from CDG airport, but it's near a tiny town called Bailly-Romainvilliers. You can walk there to see the little shops and pubs. Or you can take a bus to the train station and be in Paris in about an hour. There is also a nearby mall (Val d'Europe) that had our favorite restaurant, Hippopotamus. Obviously there's all the usual stuff in Paris, but I enjoyed the small town part the most.

Don't forget the strawberry tiramisu! It's from a chain of Italian restaurants around Paris called Cesar. It's the dessert that inspired one of our wedding cake flavors.

Most of our other trips were pretty touristy, I think. I highly recommend seeing a concert at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas if you get a room there for the night so you don't have to wait for a cab with 2,000 other people. If you're a foodie, you should try dinner at Payard at Caesar's Palace. The chef and his assistant make everything in a little area in the middle of the restaurant, which was fascinating. I could watch him all day!

    Honorable mention:

    Tombstone, AZ
Universal Orlando (my favorite place on earth!)
