Re: Finding a Venue!

  • edited December 2011
Ok sorry something went from there, heres the original post...

Hello Ladies, Really hoping you can help with giving me some ideas. My best friend is getting married in Florida next year (June) and we are struggling to find a venue. We are from England and her finance is from the US. Trying to research online ourselves is proving a nightmare plus at the moment they have no idea of their budget. They are inviting around 60 guests; so not a very big wedding party. They are possibly looking for a hotel in the Orlando area but are open to ideas. If anyone has any ideas or recommendations for a venue or any tips that would help us out it will be MASSIVELY appreciated because at the moment we are lost!

Check out Lake Mary Events Center, it is breathtaking, I may be biased since I'm getting married there, but it books up FAST! So go check it out! What kind of venue is she looking for? There are a MILLION country clubs that would be just fine! Tuscawilla Country Club is extremely affordable. It's fairly new, but The Mezz in downtown Orlando has a great modern feel to it. Most of the decor in there is black, white and grey, so really you just need an accent color.

Plus there is a tool that the knot provides that give you a listing of venues they prefer, good luck planning!

Casa Feliz is great for small weddings, and it's also breathtaking!

Dubsdread is also really pretty for that small wedding. They are not that expensive. The only thing is that the bar is set up weird but the girls there are super nice and for the price you pretty much get a Day of Coord. We would have booked there but both side of the family is heavy drinkers and the bar setup was too iffy for me.

A couple I know got married on the beach, and had their reception at the Hilton. It was very nice.
Another popular place I see many weddings at since I live next to it is the Casement. Here is the website. http://www.thecasements.net/events.html
    Hope it helps. Smile

Stoneybrook West in Winter Garden is really nice (and affordable), and Katie (the coordinator) is incredibly helpful! They're also in the process of building a wedding pavilion, which should make for a beautiful ceremony.
