March, April, or May?

Hi brides and friends,
I am planning a Cincinnati wedding though I haven't lived in Cincinnati for years, and I can't recall what time of year is prettiest!

I plan to get married in March, April, or May of 2011, and I will have an indoor wedding, but I would like for the weather to be pleasant for guests, snow-free for travel, and somewhat green for picture purposes.

Does anyone have any suggestions / knowledge of Cincinnati weather in these months?

Many thanks!

Hmmmm.....my guess would be May. March can still be cold, April can be rainy. Of course, no matter what time of year, I say always be prepared for the worst!

I am getting married March of this year and have to say if you decide to go with March, most venues will work with you and give discounts because they don't typically book a lot of events in March as opposed to April and May which tend to be a lot busier.

I had mine in March, so I'm probably a little biased, but I will say that we definitely got discounts because of it being an off-season month.  Also, the weather in Cinti is entirely unpredictable, so even though it's March, you still have a decent shot at getting nice weather - our wedding day was almost 70 degrees and sunny.

All three months would be nice, but your best bet for nicer weather would probably be early May. Though they say if you want to know what the weather is suppose to be in Cincinnati... just wait till tomorrow b/c you never know :)

I say late April or early May. There is a website out there that provides average temp and rain fall... you could look at that.

I'll throw this out there too.. if you are Catholic... a lot of churches won't marry you during Lent or Easter which is usually in April.. FYI.

    Good luck!!!

Our wedding is April 24th and last year ('09) that weekend was 70 degrees...and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be just as nice this year! I think that you can have unpredictable weather all 3 of those months here in Cincy. There are many times that May has been cold and rainy and other times it's been warm and sunny. It's all a toss with those months. But I agree w/ pp that March is good for money savings!
    Good Luck!

Everytime I hear March the only thing I think of is my cousins wedding 2 years ago getting cancelled due to the blizzard. I'm getting married May 15 this year and hoping for warm and sunny of course, but like PPs said Cincinnati weather is nothing if not unpredictable.

I'm getting married in April and just really hoping for good weather, but I know it's really unpredictable. It could be snowy or it could be 70 degrees. Or both in a 24 hour span.

But there are little pretty budding flowers on trees, blossoming branches are available for centerpieces, and it's the start of the peony and tulip season. And apparently I love those flowers (I didn't even know that before I started planning the wedding). But these flowers are still around in May.

One thing I found out after already setting a date is that limo companies aren't willing to negotiate or hire out their cars for shorter periods of time since April and May are prom season and they're not hurting for business. It's just one vendor of many, though. On the other hand I'm getting a discount from my photographer because it's an April wedding. April is the very beginning of the busy wedding season in Cincinnati, I think.

Check out hrparker's beautiful wedding day pics in her married bio to see what trees in march looked like last year. I have a couple pictures I took on March 21 last year...I think they're Magnolia trees...maybe...and the leaves are just starting to appear but the flowers are already there and look gorgeous.
