Help!? need reception/ceremony venue

Hello ladies,

I am new here and I am need of some help! I need to find a Wedding Venue- ceremony and reception. I am getting Married next August and Still have not booked a place or even found a location..? I am on a an budget. Me and the Fiancé just bought a house last year and are very cheap people, sad but true. We are looking for more of an outdoor location, ( modern rustic feel)  I am really sold on like a barn wedding but i cant seem to find any to suite the budget. heres the breakdown.

- we want to cater our own food

- bring our own drinks

- reasonable pricing

- willing to decorate ( DYI)

- anywhere pretty much in the state

- both ceramony/ reception on site preferably

- outdoor  ( with in door options) ( garden, farm, barn)

Now I have looked all over the web and cant seem to find a hidden Gem that we are looking for< maybe asking around will help, if anyone knows anything please let me know. Thank you all again

The Enchanted Barn is the only barn-type one that I know of, but I know know nothing about their price.  You'll have a hard time finding a venue that will let you cater yourselves (unless you mean chose your own caterer).  There are state laws governing food inspection that makes that difficult.  You could consider a park.  Those usually let you do your own food, although finding one with kitchen-type facilities might be hard.  The Jaycee's Park in Roseville has a little kitchenette.

Check city rentals ... Maple Grove has Elm Creek CHalet which looked nice.

I also have a friend getting married at the Enchanted Barn, which should fit your requirements.

The Enchanted Barn does everything in-house, so I don't think that would really her catering and beverage requests, but otherwise yeah... it's a pretty good suggestion. Just be prepared to use a port-a-potty in your wedding dress. I really wanted to have my wedding there. but couldn't bring myself to choose a venue without indoor plumbing.

Also, Elm Creek Chalet only allows a very small list of caterers... and using any of the outdoor space costs extra (and there aren't many obvious choices for ceremony spots in the park).

If you can't tell, both of those were sites I heavily considered. I went with the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater, which isn't as woodsy as I originally thought I wanted, but fits all of those other requirements.

My FI's cousin and his wife had an adorable wedding at a Girl Scout camp in Hudson. I think the rental may have been a bit pricy, but they gave the couple carte blanche on pretty much every detail of the wedding.

I am in the same boat as you!! We are trying to do it on a budget. I found this one great place in Minneapolis, but I am not sure on pricing yet. I emailed them and am literally sitting on the edge of my chair waiting to hear back :). Here is the website for them:

What I loved the most about this place is that it has a hotel right next door for out-of-town relatives. AND it has a Plan B in case it is going to rain on your wedding day.

Also, I found this great site that helped me find some places, so you could check this out as well.

Good luck! And hope I was helpful :).

Have you checked out the The Little Log House?  I believe they let you bring in outside caterers, just not alcohol.
