I have all the STD's addressed and stuffed. Now we just have to go down and get the stamps today. Then they will be out in the mail.

I just booked our limo and the town car that would take us to the hotel! I *think* we are all done with major vendors, except for invitations, but we can't do those until we have our meal choices (which will be in January). I'm excited to be crossing off big checks from the to do list!

I set up a tasting/details meeting with our venue last week. We were debating between two different packages sine I originally wanted a buffet dinner. But we've opted for a sit down, so I need to email back the wedding coordinator with the options for the foods we want to taste. I still need to sit down with FI and go over the details list they gave us, then again this weekend with my parents.

I've been looking at invitations since we can order them once our details meeting is done. I wanted the ones that match our save the dates and since we changed our colors I didn't think we could use those. But I finally figured out that WPD does in fact offer custom color options, so I think we'll go that route. Just have to double check with FI that he doesn't care.

I need to crack the whip at my bridesmaids. Only one has ordered her dress and I asked the girls to do so by the end of the month. I know that's a stretch with the holidays and all, but wiht our wedding being in the beginning of the month we don't have as much time. We were told to get them ordered by January, so I need to get on the horn soon.

Other than that we're just killing days until we leave for Chattanooga in a week for FI's cousin's wedding.

We started out registry this week online because we want Fiestware and the store only has certain pieces. We also have an appointment on Saturday to register in store. So far that is one of my favorite parts of planning! We also designed out invitations however we can't order them until after our "meals" meeting which is sometime in Feb.

kelly, you will LOVE having Fiestaware. That's what we own, and it's great...microwave/dishwasher/oven safe, and it's durable.

I worked on our centerpieces two nights this past week, and we have a meeting with our caterer tomorrow to discuss menu options. I booked our room at the hotel for the night of the wedding, and that's about it. Oh, we also nailed down the songs for the ceremony. I'm just focusing on little things right now to keep myself from totally losing steam during the holidays.

I'm getting next to nothing done.

I need to get back on my lantern painting project now that I've got the paints I need.
We're starting to collect measurements for the guys' kilts.
I think I've decided I actually do need to do table assignments after all (sigh, I was really hoping to dodge that project, lol).
I need to go out and get music for my son and FSIL, they've started asking about it
I've been looking at hotel rooms for the wedding weekend and have it narrowed down to 2 different hotels I'm considering

Lots of looking, not much action. And I'm on pins and needles to finally get the veil I ordered a couple of months ago. It's on its way...

I really want Fiesta Ware. Maybe I can con FI into going to Macy's to register for it since BB&B doesn't carry it. He's been in the registering mood lately and we'll be in Cuse this weekend. Hmmmm.

We made our 2nd deposit on our venue last week and scheduled our tasting for the beginning of January. I've also been adding items to our registires. Other than that I haven't done too much.

@cnf - They do sell Fiesta Ware at BB&B, but it's online only.

Off topic, but I used to be a cheer coach too!! So, I know how that goes and that is a stressful time for sure (especially the first one). Relax a bit, I'm sure your mom will understand you are stressed and all will be fine. Give yourself a break from planning and just do something relazing for yourself. It will all get done eventually. Good Luck at your competition! As happy as I am being done with coaching, I definitely miss it at times.

OK, my real check in:

finished addressing Save The Dates for the most part (still waiting on a few from FMIL); bought the stamps today and will hopefully get those sent this weekend. Our tasting got moved to January 20th, and then there is a bridal expo on January 13th that we are waiting to go to before actually booking vendors. Kinda makes me nervous to wait, but I was assured by our venue its a good idea, and have at least contacted the ones I think I will like (that will be at the expo) so there is at least communication going. We are not picking bridesmaid dresses until first weekend in February. I found out the place holders we were going to use got discontinued, so that bummed me out a bit, but I'm over it, since its just a place card holder and there a million other ways I can do it, so the search begins again!

I booked the band!!! I'm so excited! This is a major check off of my list. And I am feeling more than blessed as my Future In-Laws are graciously covering 100% of the cost

So, we will be enjoying The Secret Jazz Band featuring Katie Harris all evening! For the ceremony the guitarist will play an acoustic solo. Then for the cocktail hour he will play electric and be joined by upright bass and drums. And joining them for the reception will be a pianist and Katie Harris on the microphone, for a total of 5 players! They will play traditional and contemporary jazz, blues/rock combinations, swing, and all the American Songbook Standards. Such a treat!

I've also been hunting for a Rabbi or Cantor to officiate -but haven't found anyone yet.

*The next two weeks I will be on location for work, so there will be definite halt on wedding plans until I get back and FI and I go down to San Diego for Christmas with my Mom. But I am, at the very least, glad to have gotten the band squared away first

I got a few invitation samples in the mail today, expecting a few more this week. I have come to the realization that I am not successfully crafty enough to make my own invitations without them looking like a second grade art class project.

I'm sending in a rather large-ish check to our caterer tomorrow, with a list of thoughts/questions/neurotic issues I've come up with.

The contact at the hotel we want has not returned my last call, or the two emails I sent her after talking to her in SEPTEMBER. I totally kinda forgot about her, and now I really want to talk to her, and she is pissing me off. She better answer the phone tomorrow, or I may head up there and wait for her in the parking lot.

I changed our ceremony location, tentatively... which was a good feeling because the first church was giving me a headache. I found out our venue has an easel for one of my DIY projects. Other than that... I've done nothing.

I really need to get on invitations. Soon.

After recently buying my wedding dress, I have suddenly been motivated to start planning. I scheduled meetings with 2 new photographers this week since we decided not to go with our previous photographer. Now that this semester of school is coming to an end I am hoping to mark a bunch of things off of our wedding planning checklist!

Well, I havent posted over here in a while, I need to not post so much on the FB group and still post over here too haha.

Well things I have done lately:

We booked a DOC- Detroit ladies if you need one, I have a fantastic recommendation and she is booking up quick.

We have had 2 floral meetings so far. One was expensive but I loved them. The other one was out of their mind expensive and I would have to do my linens through them too since they "design" your event apparently and they didnt have any linens I liked and they were absolutely not understanding what I was looking for. I have another one booked for Monday and am emailing 2 others back and forth to figure out a date to go meet with them.

We booked linens this past monday! I am so obsessed with them.

Pretty much all my major vendors are booked except flowers and limo. Still need to do invitations too but I at least know where I am going to go to get them.

mrsk- not sure what kind of cake you are looking for but we booked ours through cakes by stephanie in monroe, the cake was amazing and the pricing is super reasonable.
