He went out of his way to make it seem like an ordinary night, I had just taken my last final the day before and he suggested we go out to dinner and go ice skating downtown to celebrate. I was more than happy to celebrate with a few drinks!
We got done with dinner and walked to the place we were going to go ice skating, but it was packed with kids so we decided against it and went walking around downtown instead. Downtown in our city, they have a huge lights display and we went walking around there. We went past a little sitting area, and he told me to sit down and I knew what was coming! He got down on one knee and took out the ring, and I started crying before he even had the chance to say anything. Of course I said yes! We had been dating for over six years after all, so it was about time.
