Innervision Eyewear

Hello! I usually lurk, but I could use your help. Today's LivingSocial deal is for Innervision Eyewear. You pay $73 for an eye examination and get $200 to spend on frames and lenses. I haven't had an eye check-up for a while and am strongly considering purchasing this deal. I'm just not sure how far the $200 wil go in terms of lenses and frames. Have any of you been to Innervision Eyewear? Would I be able to get frames and lenses in $200? I checked out their website and they seem to be on the expensive side. Thanks for any help you can give.

I haven't been to Innervision, but I can speak at least to what I spend at the place I go to when I get an exam.  My benefits through work cover one bi-yearly exam plus one six-month supply of lenses and a air of lenses/frames OR two pairs of glasses.  My lenses (which I pay for out of pocket for most of the year) are about $100-200 each time I renew them - I wear monthly disposables that correct asitgmatism, which probably arent the cheapest lenses out there.  My glasses are 100% covered and I pay nothing out of pocket if I choose frames from a special little limited selection of generic-brand lenses my doctor has.  If I want name-brand frames, I think I get $50 towards those (but they ran run up to a few hundred dolalrs each, so I usually go with the cheapie frames, since I only wear my glasses before bed).  I'm not sure if you have vision coverage through your employer or of this helps...but it covers my expenses, at least.

I don't know about Innervision but I just got new frames/lenses and contacts through my insurance last month.  Only one of those two were covered, I paid out of pocket for the other.  I compared the benefit of having insurance pay for glasses vs contacts and they told me I'd get more benefit out of the glasses.  They told me that the frames and lenses would be over $300 alone (and they were budget frames - nothing fancy).  I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know how possible it would be to get your frames & lenses completely covered within the allowed $200.  I have a feeling you'll pay more out of pocket.  But if you have no insurance coverage whatsoever, it might still be a deal for you.
