AW: We reserved a date for our venue!

Hi!  I am so excited!  We got to see the venue we were thinking about in person, and it's amazing!

We had them put our date on the calendar, and unfortunately they can't officially confirm until August (it's a working theater that is technically a non-profit, so they can't book a private event more than 6 months in advance), but the coordinator said that most likely, the date will be fine.  I am so excited to for sure have a venue (even if we have to change the date around)!

I posted a few pics a while back when I was trying to think of color schemes, but here are a few more that really don't do it justice:

There are actually red velvet curtains over the windows now, which is cool.

This is where the cocktail hour will be:

Anyway, there it is! Thanks for letting me AW :-D I am SO excited!  It is all starting to finally feel real!

Also, any decorating tips would be much appreciated!

  • Oh my, oh my! I WANT IT! I had never thought about having an indoor wedding, but if I did that would be perfect....

  • Thanks!  We were actually planning on having an outdoor venue too, but when we saw this, we fell in love :-)  They also put your name on the original 1920s marquis outside, which is pretty flippin sweeet :-D
  • I am in love....again. This is just my opinion, but all of the linens that I have been looking at really remind me of this. I see black or really dark linens, gold chairs (way out of my budget but really glamorous), red flowers, gold accents on the china?, crystal or candle trees, and a huge cake decorated with fresh flowers. Maybe not these exact elements, but similar in color and style. Wow, I think I finally have venue envy. :)

  • oooh!  I definitely want to use black, but as more of an accent color.  I really like that table, except maybe with a champagne/light gold table cloth.  I also LOVE the idea of gold chairs, but I doubt we'll be able to swing them with the budget.  Here's to hoping though.  Thanks for the ideas!

Don't have venue envy...I have been stalking your bio, and yours is seriously amazing.
  • holy moly that place is GORGEOUSSSS

  • OMG, I'm so jealous! It's AMAZING. congrats!

Our *dream* venue was a 1929 movie palace. But it turned out it was going to be waaay more expensive than we anticipated, with all the rentals, and it didn't hold enough people to accommodate our guest list.

But just cause, here are some swoonworthy pics:

  • I love buildings built in the 20s and 30s! So much character. Congrats on your venue!

  • That is the cutest place I have ever seen!  Well maybe cute isnt a good word.  Its amazing.
  • Thanks guys!  We got really lucky because they place was just renovated and just opened itself up for private events, so we got a really good deal.  I love the venue that just Jen posted too.  Old theaters are so amazing.  :-D  Ah!  So exciting!  I'm all a twitter.
