Flowers

I need to start looking for florists, but not sure where to start. I live in Denton, and we're getting married in FW. Would you usually start looking at places near the venue, or do you think looking at places in Denton would be fine? And does anyone have any recommendations for good places, good prices? Here is my Pinterest, I have a board on there for wedding bouquets I liked if that helps.

Re: Flowers

  • Your link is broken, but any good florist will be able to help with your vision and budget. I personally used Out of the Garden in Grapevine, and I loved them.
It won't matter too much on your location as long as you use a DFW florist.
  • I also used Out of the Garden and they were great.  The best thing about them (and I think Cwagg will agree) is that they are a floral wholesaler, so they have a giant cooler full of flowers and can make a mock-up right there in your initial consult.

And also, yes, almost any vendor you use should be able to travel to your venue.  So if you wanted to go with a Denton florist because it's easier to get to consultations, you would be fine.

<div>I agree! But seriously, bring a cardigan. I was so so cold, yet I could have spent all day in there.</div>

I did not look for vendors near my venue, I looked here and on Wedding Wire for recommendations and chose my florist that way.  Any vendor will come to you.

I love my florist Tami Winn and she is in Fort Worth--but her business has grown since 2009 and I believe she now has a rather large minimum for weddings.  But my point is that I would rather start with vendors that a bride I trust has already used and loved rather than someone that just happens to be nearby.  I had to drive for over an hour to meet with Tami, but in the end, it was worth it.
  • Oh, darn, here is the link pinterest.com/sharonlynnjared
  • I would agree with the others, venders will travel. I also used wedding wire for ideas and reviews to start my search. I did throw in a wild card with In Bloom florist which also has a cooler so she was able to give me ideas on the spot. I actually ended up going with In Bloom because we hit it off so well.

  • Awesome, thanks for clarifications and ideas on ones to check out! I think I'll have to plan a date with my MOH in Grapevine, so we can check out Out of the Garden for flowers, then head to La Buena Vida winery out there and use my free drink coupons and talk to them about having the RD there possibly. Thanks again for the suggestions!
  • Check out Ashley Kirk of Ashlilium. She rocks & will travel to wherever to meet you, which makes life much easier.
  • I used Kirsten with Lily Pad Flowers. I know there have been a few girls who had issues with her, but I took a chance (because she was by FAR the most affordable that I could find) and my flowers turned out perfect. No complaints (except maybe a tiny one that I will detail in my reviews later this week). I would definitely say she's worth a meeting, and she has a facebook page with lots of her real work.
