XP: Decor Suggestions Please :)

Hi Everyone :) Below is a pic of the room we are using for the reception.  I know I definitely want to incorporate blue and chiavari chairs, but beyond that I'm torn.  At first I was thinking dark blue linens with white/green/blue flowers, but now I'm wondering if I should do orange flowers, or maybe light blue linens...or all white flowers...I never thought the decor was the thing that I would be so indecisive about but I keep going back and forth.  Anyone have any suggestions for what might work with the room?

What color chiavari chairs are you using? If you're going with gold, I don't think I'd use orange flowers because it might get a bit clashy. Personally, I like your idea of incorporating the blues in the room. I think you could still do white tablecloths, or maybe light blue, and then shades of blue and/or white flowers. Maybe include pops of orange, but not a ton.

Also, what are your wedding colors -- i.e. what are the bridesmaids wearing, what colors are you using on your invitations, programs, in your cake, etc.? As long as all of your wedding stuff is complementary, I don't think you necessarily have to be matchy-matchy with your venue.

I was thinking gold chairs but I'm not set in stone on that color.  The wedding colors will be mainly a shade of blue but I have not 100% decided the exact color yet, and then I was thinking some gold accents just because I think silver would look weird in the room, but at this point I'm open to suggestions because I can't make up my mind what I think would look best :)

Congrats on making your venue choice. It's lovely!

You really don't have to match your wedding colors to your venue. Is blue one of your favorite colors?

But if you wanted to, I like the blue in the ceiling and in the carpet. It's not critical that (if you choose blue) it match exactly to any of the venue blue tones. Blue, gold and cream or white would be lovely.

I got the all white rose wedding package from Costco online, and ordered my bulk flowers for the centerpieces from the florist who supplies them for my local Costco's kiosk at the store. It was an easy decision for me as I wanted to save some money on flowers. Regardless of who you get your flowers from, you could have all white with pops of blue or lavendar.........I agree that orange might be a bit harsh with the gold undertones.

    Good luck.

<div>As a bride who spent 6 months of her life worrying about how my blue & silver colors will look in a gold room, I will tell you - do not worry! It's not worth the stress!! :D  We had similar color-painted walls and gold fixtures.  We used royal blue linens, except the head table which was silver.  We had silver charger plates.  Mostly the wall ended up fading to the background because of all of the stuff we had in it.  I used a lot of candles, so the walls also looked like candle-light, especially with a bit of uplighting we used.  In the end, I think the walls looked more yellow than gold and it worked nicely with the blue.  </div><div>
</div><div>But, if you go with gold chairs then do gold for everything in your decor. :)</div><div>
</div><div>Blue and gold look very nice together.  If you stick with gold, then use a deeper blue and not a baby blue.  </div><div>
    </div><div>Hope that helps. :)</div>

I have no suggestions.  I just wanted to say that the venue is stunning!!

  • Have you thought about the mahogany chivari chairs? They are very elegant and would go with all color tones. Your florist should be able to help you come up with a color scheme, but I think the royal blue would be stunning in there. Try out www.linenhero.com to pull some ideas together. Good luck and have fun!
