Photographer

I am looking for a good photographer.

the biggest problem we have i we dont have enough time in between the wedding and the reception to do photos so we were going to do a different day of just me and my fi (he doesnt want to see me in the dress before the wedding)

we also dont have a large budget so we are trying to find something under $2000, and maybe only 6 hours the day of the wedding

How much time do you have between the ceremony and reception?  If you didn't go to your cocktail hour, I bet you would have enough time for pics... it really doesn't take that long!

I am using Jan Hudson, and she is highly recommended. Very friendly, professional, and her work is great. She is also affordable, her prices are listed on her website:

We are having the wedding at 5:30 because we are doing it on a Friday to save some money and because that’s when things worked out best for our families. We don’t want to have to late of a reception and we are not having any alcohol so we don’t want to have a long cocktail hour with no cocktails. So we wanted the reception to be at 6:30

I'd recommend checking out New Image Photography (www.niphoto.com) or Everlasting Images (www.everlastingimages.biz). Both really wonderful, and either would fit easily into your price range. :)

I'm getting married a Country Club where the reception will be held immidiatly after, so I feel your pain about needing to get the pics done quickly - my fiance doesn't want to see me before the wedding either. We are using Jennifer Hamilton, JHPhotography, for 6 hours, a CD with copyright release of the photos, and a coffee table book all for $600. She was really nice when we met with her, and her pics look pretty good on her website. Good luck!

I agree with everyone who recommended Everlasting Images.  They are in your price range for 6 hours and I think you could add on another session of just you and your husband and still be under budget.  They include an engagement session with their package so maybe you could exchange that for a bride-groom session post wedding.

I would just look at the portfolios of the photographers and call a handful of the ones who seem to make pictures you liuke. You need to remember that what you want is great pictures if you choos based on schedule alone you may end up with a style of pics that you don't care for. Any good photographer will be able to work around your schedule, your schedule really isn't anything all that unusual.
