Emergency, Need a dress quick

I already have a dress that I was pretty much forced into buying by my mother and Davids Bridal consultantYell.  I really hate the color and the style.  I have been looking for a dress for about a month but my wedding is in 75 days.  To make matters worse I am considered a plus size bride.  I saw Davids bridal does sell a few dresses online ready to ship but could only find "1" that I think will look good on my inverted triangle figure. Can anyone suggest a online retailer that is very reputable and carries my size and can rush the order?  Has anyone ever used ARIA or Ali B Maids.  I have a good seamstress but not time to make a dress. Cry

Have you considered visiting bridal shops and buying off the rack? Call ahead to shops and ask them to pull dresses in your size. When you buy the sample you get a percentage off usually as well.

Yes thats what I've been doing the past month.  Most of the dresses off the rack are overly glittery or just plain ugly.  The other problem I've been running into is the attitude of the sales people and store owners because I want to buy off the rack or rush order.  I've even considered a BM dress in white since I am going for the informal wedding dress style. I can't burn too much more gas driving around metro Detroit just to get the door slammed in my face.

If you haven't been there, check out Group USA at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. They have multiple wedding dresses in multiple sizes on hand. They also have a website with dresses. (www.groupusa.com) Their most expensive dress (I think) is about $600.

    Good luck.

Have you thought about looking online at sites like http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/? The risk is that these dresses are not returnable, but you should be able to find something in your size and they can probably ship it quickly.

There's this wedding shop by me, where they buy last season's dresses and they'll take pre-owned ones. She told me they don't sell any dresses over $399 so the prices are right. There were actually two there that I almost bought, and they had a lot of plus sized ones too. It's called "Rosebuds" in Waterford.

If you don't mind me asking, what size are you? PM me.

I'd look on Craigslist.  I see a lot of people selling dresses on there.  You might find a great deal, and you can try it on before you buy it.  Of course, it's more gas money but it sounds like you're running out of options. :(  Good luck!

Well I hit Rosebuds in Waterford today with no luck.  There was a shop next door to it with a lot of dresses but nothing in my size.  They were willing to order some stuff for me rush but I have to search online and give them a list to see if it can be ordered.  So tonight it looks like homework.  Also ordered a "try-on" from Aria for $15 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  My last hope will be Group USA but I will not attempt that until the weekend.
