when are you ladies sending out your STD?

I'm probably going to send mine out around the 6 month mark, so that would be mid-October for me.

We're getting our engagement pictures done within the next month or so. So, as soon as I get our pictures back, I'm goning to start designing our STD's and send them out this fall sometime. I guess you can even send them out now. I've read a ton of articles that said to send out a year in advance, if you have it.

Our photographer just mailed our E-pics CD, so I should have them by the end of the week. Once I get them, I'll start on the STDs. I'm using Shutterfly since I have a gift card from DB. I'll probably order the STDs in the next 2 weeks and send them out in June or July. We have a lot of OOTs, several in the military, and we just want to give everyone an official notice as far in advance as possible.

Then, when it comes til for invitations, I probably will not send those out until early March and have an RSVP date by like April 7 or 14, depending on when my caterer needs the final headcount.

6-9 months is the norm. People with lots of OOT guests, or a Destination wedding usually are a little earlier than that.

I'm looking at sending mine at the 9month mark.

If you are doing a regular at-home style wedding - 6months
Destination - 7-9months

We have a lot of OOT guests so we will be sending ours out in July which is the 9 month mark.

If I even do them, I will probably send them in October. I'm not even doing the engagement shoot until September.

I figure I may not even do STDs though, because I'm trying to save money and I've emailed most guests the link to my wedding website anyway, which has the date on it.

I made my own STD for about $40. I bought STD magnets from Michaels Craft Store and printed them myself and turned out great. They are about the size of a postcard and and they can go right on the fridge. They are all ready and stamped (with personalized stamps from Zazzle.com). I don't plan on sending out until September, but its one less thing to think about.
