Receiving Line?

Okay, so I know that people say to do table rounds at the reception. Are you still expected to do this if you do a receiving line at the ceremony?

No everyone may want to wait for the recieving line.  (I personally hate recieving lines and try to skip them if at all possible.)  If you know that some of your guests did not go thorugh your receiving line then you should make an effort to greet them at their table.

  • Receiving line at the church while guests exit or at the reception (which seems weird to me as we won't be the first people there)? I anticipate about 90 guests.  Thanks.

  • If you do the receiving line, you don't have to do table visits.  If people skip out on the receiving line, it isn't your problem to hunt them down, but hopefully you will be able to briefly chat with many at your reception.
  • We also won't be the first ones at the reception, so we're doing a receiving line at the church as people leave. Since we're doing a buffet/cocktail style wedding, I'd be too worried that with table visits I'd miss someone. And we're inviting something like 225, no idea how many are coming.

  • We are greeting our guests at cocktail hour. If we miss anyone, we may have to visit a few tables.
  • I love the idea of a receiving line because so many Brides I have spoken to say they didn't get to eat dinner between kissing games, toasts, and having to visit each table.

    Just sayin'
  • We stood at the entrace of the room for cocktail hour and greeted people there, by far the easiest option if you can do it (we did pictures before the ceremony). I mingled and chatted people the whole night anyways,
