Local venue q's

Hi all, 
Does anyone have comments/experience with the following wedding venues for a ceremony or reception? I've looked at reviews online from weddingwire, etc but they all seem to have great reviews, so looking for some more insight, i.e. how the food is, customer service, etc. 
Overhills mansion & their catering service-whitehouse caterers
The gathering place & their catering services- absolutely perfect caterers or putting on the ritz

    I have never personally tried it, but I have a friend who got married last year and they used putting on the ritz.  When he found out I was engaged he was practically jumping up and down telling me I should use Putting on the Ritz.  He says their service was excellent and will probably use them for other occasions in the future.  I looked into them but I ended up going with a venue that had its own caterer.
