Cake Shape

I can't decide on a cake shape. The cake design is the beading off of my wedding gown...

So, choose one then I guess, provide a reason if you want. No big deal either way.

I just love round wedding cakes.

Im useing the pearl beading off of my dress for our wedding cake design.

I said rounds because if you want people to look at the decorations of the cake, the rest should be very normal/traditional, thus, rounds. If you were having a cake without a special design, you could make the cake special with the shape.

I voted square....you could even ask your baker to "twist" the tiers a bit so they are off center and look like a staircase. This is what we are doing and it makes it look so elegaant! I also think it would go well with the shape of your dress, since you are mirroring the beading!

One more thing...some bakers (i know mine does) have this software they use to make a 3d image of what your cake will look like. you can ask yours to give you a few options and pick the one you like best. this will give you a feel for what it will really look like.

We chose rounds for our wedding cake. The reason is because we both want scroll pipping on the cake and it looks best visually on a round cake.
