Nervous about honeymoon decision

Hey girls! the FI and I have booked our honeymoon at Sandals Antigua, and I am super excited about it. I know you need to wait about 10 months out to get flights booked but I'm getting nervous about the flight situation. It seems there are not many flights that leave from BWI and fly to Antigua, and if there are, there are long layovers. I was wondering if anyone has ever flew into Antigua or know anyone that has been there? I hope I am just being silly but I dont want to have issues on my honeymoon. Any help would be appreciated!

    I went to Antigua last year on a cruise (we went zip-lining and had a blast!). 
    The problem with getting there is that the airports are sooo small! I browsed some flights, and I think there's going to be no choice but having a layover. I think I saw a flight from Baltimore to San Juan, and then San Juan on to Antigua. Have you thought about maybe spending a day or two in San Juan? Old Town is very pretty.  Layovers of a few hours aren't so bad - gives you a chance to stretch your legs. Read for a little bit, nap for a little bit, get something to eat, and before you know it, it's time for the next flight!

    I prefer long layovers.  An hour never seems like enough time to dash across the airport and maybe make a bathroom or food stop before getting on the next plane.

    I had to talk DH into going for a 5 hour layover over a 1-2 hour layover once. We had an international flight and then a domestic flight.  We were among the last couple people to board our domestic flight after running across the airport.  If takeoff or deboarding are delayed, a long layover can be a good thing.

    Ditto everything lovethebeach said about a long layover.  We have been that couple running through Miami airport after an international flight wasn't timed right by our AAA agent (we thought we had 2 hours between flights, but with the time change really only one, plus we still hadto go through customs!). 

    It might be nice to stay a night in San Juan if you have that option.  We were hoping to be able to afford to spend a night in San Francisco on the way out to Hawaii to break it up, but in the end we opted for more time in Hawaii and we're having a layover each way in Phoenix.

    Yea a longer layover may not be that bad but some of them are 5+ hours..it may be nice to hang out in the layover destination if its a nice one..definently something to think about.

    I second San Juan! If your layover is long enough, there's plenty to do there!
