XP: Alternatives for Dietary restrictions?

We have 2 guests coming that are Vegan and 2-3 others that have gluten restrictions. We will be having a wedding cake as well as a dessert bar. What should we do for those that have dietary restrictions? I was thinking about trying to find a bakery to make a few vegan and a few gluten free cupcakes and then tell the servers who should get them. What do you think?

Re: XP: Alternatives for Dietary restrictions?

  • Why not ask your guests what they would like for dessert?
  • I asked our bakery if they could make a few gluten-free cupcakes along with the regular ones we will be having, which they agreed to do. I'm sure it won't be a problem to make them. I bet you could find a bakery to do the same!
  • Our bakery is doing the same thing, a dozen or so gluten-free cupcakes for those with allergies.  They are also vegan I believe and satisfy most of our food allergies.

  • We have food allergies all over our bridal party, including me.  Cakeology is our cupcake vendor, and they are able to do vegan/allergy free cupcakes for us. In the BP alone, we  have celiac (me and another BM), nuts/shellfish/legumes, dairy/eggs (me), and a host of other allergies.  Cakeology was by far the easiest one to work with, and the cheapest ($450 for 100+ cupcakes and a presentation cake, with no rental for the stands, display, labor and travel).  Victoria is a sweetheart!
  • Awesome, thanks for all of the suggestions ladies!
