Unique DFW Reception Question

I am looking for a reception venue that is within walking distance to a hotel or attached to a hotel.  I have already explored actual hotels, but I hear I can find a better value or cheaper price if I choose a spot not in a hotel.  I would love for my guests to be able to walk from the party to their hotel at the end of the night.  Anywhere in DFW is ok with me!  Any ideas?!  THANK YOU BRIDES TO BE!  Smile

    Nicole,

I am having my wedding and reception at the Addison Event Center and there a few hotels with walking distance ( about a block or two away ). There is a Marriott Courtyard, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express.

The venue itself is moderately priced and can do catering or you can bring in your own caterer and alcohol ( this was the selling point for me and my FI).

    Hope that helps!

The atruims at park west - the hotel across the st is Omni at Park west - they will shuttle everyone for free across it even though you can walk. The atruims will work with any budget just let them know. Also we got rooms blocked at Omni for 89 a night and the hotel is very nice

also there is avanti at fountain place you can walk to the fairmont hotel

you could also rent out a bed and breakfast and have people stay there like the wildwood inn in denton

check out grand hotel in mckinney there prices werent bad at all

I wouldn't automatically eliminate a hotel as an option.  A hotel does provide alot:  linens, all the serviceware, glassware, place settings, barware, servers, bartenders, food and beverage and in some cases, table decor and an event planner.  So you do get alot for the money, as well as an elegant location.

i'm having my reception at the hilton in downtown fort worth.  we are staying there the night before and the night of.  our rehearsal dinner (ruth's chris steakhouse) is in the same building as the hotel and might be a good option for you if you want to keep it small.  just an idea.

We had our wedding at the Dallas Arts Center (Special Day Events) and it is walking distance from Hotel Indigo Downtown Dallas. We stayed there the night before and night of the wedding. We also had a block there where 90% of our guests stayed. We ended up having our rehearsal dinner there and it was wonderful.

I had my reception at The City Club downtown (69th floor of the green Bank of Amerca tower). You do not have to be a member. I then blocked rooms at the Magnolia for my out of town guests. This also made for easy travel to the brunch the following morning at Iron Cactus.

They have very diverse menus and can accomodate your wedding, reception, or both easily. You can also get the upgrade package which gets you free parking, chivari chairs, upgraded linens, the dance floor, flower centerpieces from Dr. Delphiniums, wedding cake from Elena's cakes, a wedding coordinator (Vicky Welch was a godsend to me) and other bits and bobs.

I was an out of town bride coming in from The Netherlands. The City Club made it super easy to plan an amazing event.

We're using the Palace Room in the FTW Stockyards (directly in front of Billy Bob's). They are the cheapest place we could find (catering, rental, linens, dj, set up and take down, huge dance floor etc for 7K) and are all inclusive. The Hyatt is also just right there. Good luck with your search!

my FMIL was out looking for rehearsal dinner places and came across the Bluebonnet room in the La Plaza building in the Stockyards and come to find out, the same vendor had just opened a brand new venue next door that was twice the size and amazing (the Palace Room). Their website is www.thepalaceroom.net. They're still pretty new, but so far FI and I are pretty  pleased. The only complaint that we've had so far is that they're a little scatterbrained sometimes (they aren't always the quickest people in getting paperwork to us), but they've been very helpful and again, it's the best pricing I've seen so far for a venue of that size and calibur (the place holds something like 800-900 ppl and they generally work with your budget). Let me know if you have any other questions!!! Good luck with your planning!!!!
