Is this menu ok?

First let me tell you a little about the wedding:
1.) outdoor ceremony
2.) semi-formal
3.) ceremony to start at 6pm
4.) the wedding is in July in SC.
------------------------------------------------------------------
So with that being said, tell me if this menu will be ok:

Sliced turkey
Sliced roast beefAll the above served with specials sauces and an assortment of fresh breads including~ wheat, rye, pumpernickel, cranberry nut and multigrain.

Chicken salad tucked in mini wheat rolls
Swedish meatballs

Cheese straws

Baked spinach & artichoke dip
Creamy corn salsa
*both served with a variety of tort. chips.*

Fresh raw vegetables including; carrots, broccoli, cailiflower, squash, cucumbers and celery served with ranch dipping sauce.

Mashed potato martini bar, includes toppings such as; chopped ham, mushrooms, cheese, chives, bacon bits & gravy.

Salad bar, includes all toppings & 3 different types of dressings.

Just wanted to make sure 100% that this menu was alright, before I wrote it in stone with the caterer.

Thanks guys :)

Are people building their own sandwiches with the meat? Or are the buns on the side? It sounds tasty, though I think meatballs and tortilla chips read as casual rather than semi formal (both in taste and possible mess factor), but, you know, if it tastes good and you like it, whatever.

Do you have any vegetarian guests? If so, I definitely think you need something more than the salad bar and the raw veggie bar... what about a pasta salad or ravioli with goat cheese?

The only vegetarian I know on our guest list is my cousin, she will eat her on weigh in mashed potatos.

But my caterer offers a mac & cheese bar, with toppings.
    and a pasta station.

Should I get those just for my cousin, i'm 100% sure that she will just eat a salad & mashed potatos? (that's all she likes! ever.) haha.

I don't know - only you can decide that... but a mac and cheese bar sounds pretty awesome. I'm sure your omnivore guests would eat that up too!

How on earth does your cousin get her protein if she only eats mashed potatoes and greens? That sounds super unhealthy. Ha! That's a totally nosy question - feel free to ignore it. It just always surprises me how many vegetarians out there don't eat very healthily.

I'm with kaesha - the menu sounds more casual than semi-formal.  Lots of items that sound good on their own, but they make up a slightly strange menu when all brought together.  Is it all buffet?

BTW, if you get the mac & cheese bar, I am inviting myself!  :D

I think minus the vegetarian issue the menu seems filling and has a decent variety, but I completely agree with posters who've mentioned that the formality level might be a little off.  If you switched the turkey and roast beef from what sounds like a "sandwich" station to more of a carving station and offered the macaroni and cheese or some other side dish I think it would have more of a "semi-formal, dinner" feel than a sandwich-y vibe that might be better at a casual afternoon reception.

P.S. LOVE the cheese straws =)

I don't know. I've never seen or heard of serving cold cuts at a wedding. That's something I serve at an informal family visit. It doesn't really read "wedding" to me, especially not a semi-formal one. I love the mashed potato bar and the mac n cheese bar. How about a gourmet slider station (like angus beef burgers with truffle fries, etc)

I like the idea of a gourmet slider station too, that'd definitely up the formality a little bit. A mac n cheese bar would be TOTALLY awesome!

I am not sure how "sliders" (whether made with angus or truffle or whatever) up the formality level of anything.

Sorry.  If you can get it at White Castle it's probably not going to increase the formality level of a menu.
