New Traditions: Instead of Bouquet Toss & Garter Throw

Hi,

I'm still debating on whether or not to do the bouquet toss and garter throw at the reception. What are some other ideas people have if you're not doing that during the reception?

Thanks!!

  • Instead of the boquet toss, I have seen people have all couples come to the dance floor and dance and the point of it is to get the couple that has been married the longest to be the last couple on the floor and then the bride gives the boquet to them.

  • We aren't doing them.  We might do the anniversay dance but it won't be a replacement.  I've actually never seen it done as a replacement, only in addition to and instead of giving the couple anything they are asked to give the B&G a few words of advice on how to make a marriage last.

  • Thanks those are great idea!
  • No garter throw for us. As for the toss, I may make a toss bouquet from some grocery store, tie "fortunes" around each stem and invite all the women (not just the single ones) and have a dozen ladies catch the individual stems. But that is assuming I am feeling overly ambitious and not stressed and or exhausted.
  • We had two brides, two bouquets, and two garters.  Nothing got tossed, and we didn't substitute anything.
