Booking bands

Hi all,

I'm looking into booking bands and was wondering if it's better to go through the band or through a booking company.  I've been in contact with one booker, but it's going slow and I have my heart set on this one band.  Should I wait for her or call them up? Or - maybe contact another booker that can book them as well?

I feel ya...my FI and I had a band in mind that we really had our hearts set on.  It looks like it's going to work out after all, but I almost gave up on them when we couldn't get more than a verbal agreement from their manager for weeks.  Seems to be typical of a lot of NOLA vendors that they don't exactly get calls returned and contracts done at a fast pace!

If there is someone else you could contact about that same band, then I would think it couldn't hurt to try.  If not, then I would try to be patient and stay on the person, but maybe give yourself a deadline for moving on to other options if you don't manage to get something together by a certain date.

Yeah, good luck, they seem to be tough to get in touch with. We wound up calling in a favor from our coordinator to contact the guy (she is friends with them) and set everything up. We will not have a contract, but she works with them often so I'm not too worried.

I would try all contacts available in your situation.
