Joliet / Rialto Square Theater brides, pleeeease read!!

I had a question for anyone who had their wedding / reception at the Rialto Square Theater in Joliet! I was wondering HOW ahead of time you booked the theater to get your date, since it's a theater and they hold shows.

Also, did you get your first choice?
I'd also appreciate knowing how you felt about the venue! :)

Thanks for any help!!

Have you contacted the venue yet? That may be a good place to start. I hear it is fantastic! My IL's just went to a wedding there and they really enjoyed it.

I was waiting until I at least know the amount of people I'm having to actually contact them! Lol. I still have close to 2 years, so I'm just getting the preplanning done.

You are very smart to plan in advance.  They are great to work with and I am sure you will get your day.  When you book the room they want an aproximate.
Take your phone books or iphone books and your parents phone books and just start counting guests.  BE SURE TO HAVE A VENDOR TABLE.  You will need to feed your photographer, planner, dj etc.

ALSO  VERY IMPT.  Ask each one of the people you are paying what will you be wearing.  As a planner I see photograpers come in with sandles, crop pants with a design  mini skirts    sweat pants and striped teeshirt with pink and grey.
Ask them to wear all black and you want them to look professional.  Get it in your contract.  Pick your vendors wisely.    I just did a wedding where the cake didnt show
the DJ personality was horrible, the photographer looked like she was going on a picnic

Thank you so much. I requested a list from my fiances mom, and my parents side is small so I got all of theirs already!
I will definitely make sure the vendors dress appropriately! I never thought of that, I just thought it was common sense to look professional! Lol.

I just booked there very recently for Sept 29 2012.  They do book quite a bit ahead of time because they only have one event per night there.  During the fall and winter season they don't really have dates open because that is when their shows really start to hit.  Call and set up a meeting with Trish and she'll take you around the place and talk to you about the prices and look to see the dates they have available.  Trish has been fantastic so far btw.  I really love her!  She offered to show our parents around and even will be letting my photographer in awhile in advance to do test shots with the lighting.  Once you make the final decision to have it there, they save the date for you.  They then work on the contract and half is due based on your estimate of guests upon signing.  I knew right when I saw it that it was perfect for us.  I didn't even bother looking anywhere else because I knew nothing would compare.  Let me know if you do book there btw cause then we'd be sister rialto brides :D

I had my wedding there on August 7th 2011 a few weeks ago. It was amazing! I would book as soon as possible. I believe I was around 8-9 months out when I booked it. You don't provide the final count and payment until a few weeks before your wedding so I would secure the venue ASAP :) It's a wonderful place, and I used Marie's for catering. They were WONDERFUL! If you have any questions about the area and hotel information I can give you all the vendors I used. Shoot me an email julia.ann.yeh@gmail.com. Ican't wait to get my pics back from the photographer =)
