Manhattan Wedding for $150 per plate or less???

I am newly engaged and starting the daunting task of finding a reception venue.  I really want a NYC wedding... something modern, formal, sleek.  But is it really possible to find all of this at $150 per plate or less?   We'll have the reception at a church.  I'll have about 125 people, need a top shelf open bar, and would like a cocktail hour that doesn't leave you feeling like you only got one "chicken on a stick."

Suggestions please!!!!

    Depends on time of year and day, but my Sat night at Battery Gardens is $120/PP, not including tax and tip though.  I am getting married this December.

    Also, there's a place on 5th ave and i think 9th street..45 5th ave? I've heard they are reasonable too.

    It's 24 Fifth Avenue, and I believe it's $130 on a Friday or Sunday Night. They're owned by the same people as Bridgewater's, which I THINK is also $130 on Fridays or Sundays. There are also loft spaces, like Studio 450, which would allow you to bring in your own caterer, which might give you more freedom to find one that works in your budget. Desmond Tutu Center is also under $150 for Friday or Saturday night.

    Manhattan Penthouse is about $130 for a Friday evening.
