Ideas for bridesmaid gifts

Hey guys,

I am looking for ideas, something creative, what I could get the bridesmaids. I don't want to spend over $50 for each, but will spend a little more if its creative.

I am having an outside wedding by the beach. It's a tropical wedding.

Re: Ideas for bridesmaid gifts

  • We don't know your bridesmaids. What would you buy them as a gift for their birthday or Christmas? The gifts don't have to match.

FWIW, we picked out books for our wedding party, based on their individual personalities.

  • Shop for each one as if it is their Bday or Christmas.  Do NOT do anything beachy or tropical.  A thank you should never be related to the wedding's theme.  Read the post on moms and maids - How not to treat a bridesmaid.
  • My sister is doing homemade bath and body items like bath salts, sugar scrub, etc. You can find a lot of that stuff on Martha Stewart's website.

  • I saw these custom maid paintings for bridesmaids. They're a little over your budget but $100 each if you get 8 or more...

  • Check out etsy.com - it's my new fun thing to look at. Even if you don't buy something on there, maybe you'll find some ideas? How many people in your BP? How long have you known them, what are they like?

  • With my group of friends, when we are each others bridesmaids, for the gifts we pay for the jewelry that they will wear at the wedding.  Sometimes we add something else.  For one of my friends wedding, I got jewelry and a tall glass cup with my name on it with the wedding details.  I currently have it on my bookshelf with my bouquet from the wedding sitting in it.  For my wedding I'm planning on getting them jewelry and maybe some flasks (since my girls like to drink, lol!).

Do something simply like jewelry and then add something that fits their personality.  :)

  • I'm getting my girls their jewelry from Etsy.com, making a mini survival kit for the day of, and something that's more personal that makes me think of them. This item I'll probably buy when I start my Christmas shopping :)
