Cupcake?

Is anyone else considering doing a cupcake wedding cake?
I just love the idea of having multiple options for guests but I don't know if it will break the bank or not.

    We are, actually going to do a one tier wedding cake, and then cupcakes beneath it. My friend works at a bakery that does weddings and she's gifting it me. I'm very lucky!

    We were planning of fun-fetti cupcakes, with the top tier being a small cake to save.  Who doesn't love cupcakes?  Or fun-fetti?Laughing

    If my friend didnt offer to make my cake I would ahve been doing cupcakes (and making them myself). Since she offered I am now just doing a cake. I love the cupcake idea.

    We're doing a smallish 3 tier cake because that's what I've always dreamed of, but we're also doing a cupcake groom's cake. They aren't really traditional around here, but we both love cupcakes and he wanted a fun design cake(Pac-man themed), so we merged the two so we can have both!

    We are doing a cake I think in the end it was going to be more or equal the same price if we did the cake.

    I've also heard that cupcakes are about the same price as a cake.  We're doing a cake- I actually just found the perfect baker and I love what she's going to do!

    I've been told by each bakery I contacted that cupcakes and tiered cakes run up to be about the same amount. With cupcakes you should try to have more, I know I can't eat only one cupcake, and with cake you can typically go 20 peoeple less and still have enough.
