  Maybe she should go to the person that's going to make her the dress and ask where to get the fabric, I bet they know

  I wouldn't reccomend Joanne's for a nice wedding dress. I think their fabrics are nice but a little too casual for clothes; their stuff is better for blankets, kids clothes, drapes, etc.
  
  I think their is a fabric shop on Miracle Mile and there are a ton of others in Miami. She should also check of Gabrielle Arrango (sp?) on Miracle Mile. They do custom dresses there and they are BEAUTIFUL! Also, Zola Keller on Las Olas does custom dresses.

  I agree Joanne's wouldn't work.  When I had my prom dress made I remember going to a place which I guess would be called a fabric distric.  Tons of fabric stores all near each other but I can't remember where that was.  Sorry!

  here is a list of a couple other fabric stores, I think 1st st/1st ave is that fabric district she istalking about. I remember going there once before but I have no idea where it is. My sister in law took me.

  Yep Bea is right, go downtown to the fabric district. They have much better stuff.

  sorry a little late for posting, but i get my fabric at ultra fabric in pembroke pines, they have a nice selection of fabric for formal dress and if you want to go down to downtown miami one of my favorites is la casa de la vieja.
