what to do next?

Hey Everyone,
I am working on a long timeline - engaged in 2010 and getting married in 2013. So far I've booked the venue for the ceremony and reception, photographer/videographer, and dj. What should I do next??
I have lots of time but I want to make sure I don't keep putting things off. Any suggestions on the next logical step?
TIA!

  • If you are using a JOP you can start looking. I reccommend Sara Carson. She's out of Hartford but travels. Also if you need any rentals you can start looking into that. If you need a passport for the honeymoon it would be nice to get that out of the way. Plus you can start looking at travel agents or websites for your hm. This way you can do an easy payment plan.

  • Definitely JOP/someone to marry you and passport.

I'd honestly look into a florist too. My florist, Stylish Blooms, is definitely meeting with brides for 2013 right now.

I assume you already have a rough estimate of your guest list, since you booked a venue.

You could work on DIY projects- card box, favors, decorations, etc. Have you decided how you'll travel between home, ceremony and reception? I almost wonder if you could do a hotel block now for OOT guests... lock in a cheap price?

And this summer it'll be time to dress shop. =)
  • Like PP said, certain popular vendors will start booking into 2013 now.  Jane from Just for You is another really popular florist on these boards.
So depending on who you want, you could definitely look into that....

Also, Dane Bartone and Noami Martinez are 2 popular travelling makeup/hair artists.  Even though I didn't have my trial til much later, I booked Dana early because she fills up fast.  Even though your look will change, you might want to get a feel for who you want to work with.

You can start thinking about transportation but we didn't book that until under the year mark.
Also, you can start researching hotels if you're planning on having OOT guests. Some might not block rooms until the year mark but it's worth checking out.

We had a 2 year engagement so I know how time can sneak up on you. One minute you think you have all the time in the world, and the next minute, you feel behind.   That definitely happened to me with invitations.

    Good luck!!
