Gifts for family/bridal party?

So I've already purchased bridal party gifts for everyone and they are all getting the same thing. Do you think I should do an extra gift for anyone? Maid of Honor, the shower host who is a bridesmaids? the personal attendant? Or is the same gift for everyone sufficient? I am going to write a letter for each person with their gifts.

Also, what about Fi's mom, my mom, step mom, and dad? What type of gifts do you suggest we can't decide. We paid for the wedding, our mom's helped out as much as they could, but my step mom and dad really didn't do anything, but I feel like if I don't get them a special gift they will be upset. What are you girls doing?

Re: Gifts for family/bridal party?

  • I have not chosen gifts for his parents or my mom and grams yet. I need something for my reader and my aunt and his grams who are also in the ceremony. Not sure what he is doing for the guys BUT for my girls I started compiling things they liked to disburse between the hosted events and the RD for the wedding.

I got all the girls a make up bag they will get this Saturday so they can use it on the wedding day if they choose. Each one has a small thing they would like inside it. My one BM I got a wine rack I am repainting to match her decor and a bottle of wine (she got me turned on wine a year ago)...the MOH and my sister BM not so sure..but I am not going to swear it as I have a little over 40 days left till the RD haha

  • I'm having the same problem with my bridal party. I'm getting my girls matching necklaces to wear to the wedding and my FI's groomsmen are getting either money clips or pocket knives (he hasn't decided yet).

We are looking at personalized frames for our parents.  There are frames you can get engraved with special messages ("I'll always be your little girl").  One I'm really looking at has a place for a pic of me dancing with my dad when I was little and a place for a pic of our father/daughter dance. I also really liked the handkercheifs from Etsy...I'd love to hear how they turn out!
  • I am so stressed over trying to figure out what to give everyone! For our parents and my fiancés grandparents (his grandmother is marrying us) we are going to make albums after the wedding. But I am clueless on what to give my girls. I'm thinking of doing a clutch and a bracelet but I want to add something else in and I can't decide. Everyone always suggests shopping like it's their birthdays but that doesn't seem to really help me!

  • I had not considered grandparents!!! Is that typically done?

Mo2T&O, a clutch and bracelet sound perfect! That's something they can use at your wedding and every time they use it after the wedding, they'll think of you and your special day.
  • I am having the hardest time with gifts, I want to do pashminas for all the girls for the night of the wedding, but I also want to get them individual gifts. So far I have yankee candles for one friend, a bathrobe I know one of my friends was coveting, but after that I am completely stumped. So stressful!
  • the idea of the engraved picture from for dad "im still your little girl" brought tears to my eyes immediatly, thanks for that idea for sure!!! Then there is my step mom, who I promised my dad to make sure she doesn't feel left out, but I have never been that close with her, she married my dad after I had moved away to WI and really only see them maybe once a year...I'm thinking a top shelf bottle for reception. LOL I'm getting together the old pictures this weekend from my mom to scan for the slide show...so I think I am going to try to order one of those kodak picture books, kinda like a scrap book but I'm not that crafty!!!! ; ) Def. doing the frame for my Dad!!! Thanks for that one!!!
  • I had robes embroidered with my BMs monograms to get ready in the day of. I also got them an embellished wine stopper and made "comfy flops" for them for the reception.

The groomsmen are getting etched beer pilsners with their monogram

We got our parents a gift certificate to their favorite restaurants for a post-wedding-craziness date night.

Musicians and book attendant are getting Visa gift cards.
