Hi Ladies, Just got back from my honeymoon so here goes some of my vendor reviews. I dont have many pics to include, only what a couple of my guests sent me. I got married in the City but quite a few of my vendors were from the Hudson Valley.
1. DOC - Lauren Paige - A+++++- Lauren carried out my vision perfectly. She saved me a huge amount of stress the day of my wedding. I would recommend to every bride to have a DOC and, if possible, hire Lauren. I gave her a lot of assignments and she was on top of it all.
2. Flowers- Westchester Floral - B+ - They would have gotten an A because my flowers were stunning but unfortunately, they had agreed to let me provide my own candles and they would set it up for me. The week of the wedding I dropped off 3 large boxes of candles (votives, floating candles, tapers, etc.) They took the boxes and said no problem. I also emailed them confirming what I had dropped off as well as instructions for how I wanted them on the tables. They forgot all of my candles. Luckily, Lauren was on it before I even knew about it. She worked a miracle and wjhen I walked into to the ballroom all of my candles were on the table. Other than that mishap my flowers were gorgeous.
3. DJ - DJ Serge - B+ - Long story but the shortened version is that I booked DJ Serge very early. I got the Platinum Package ($3,000) plus additional for the percussionist. I met with him. He understood what I wanted and reassured me that he would by DJing my event...not an assistant. Even the day before I called to make sure he wasn't double booked. The day of my wedding his assistants showed up and told me they had no idea where he was and could not get a hold of him for me. They did a great job but suffice it to say, many of the must play songs that I discussed with Serge were not played. Everyone had a great time regardless and basically I am the only person who would have noticed...but aren't I the only one who counts? Oh well.
4. Makeup - Christine- Color Makeup Studio A+++ - She made me feel beautiful and all of my girls. I will use her again when I need to look glam for a special occassion.
5. Hair - Stratos - A- My hair was perfect which wasn't easy since I had completely changed my mind from the time of my hair trial.
6. Ice Sculptures - Ice Sculptures of NY - A+++++ These were some of my favorite things at my reception. Paul is absolutely great and made wonderful suggestions. I don't have pictures of my giant martini glasses which was filled with my signature drinks but here are my other two:
7. Dress #1 RK Bridal- A+ I walked in there feeling very self conscious because of my size and never expected to find something I liked but they found me 11 dresses that 1 that I really loved. The alterations department was also great. I had weight loss surgery during the process and they made it work and gave me extra fittings.
8. Dress alterations Dress #2 - Simones Dry Cleaners, Haverstraw - A - Very nice people and reasonably priced. I bought my 2nd dress from Camille La Vie and was told the alterations would cost as much as the dress! Because of my surgery and continued weight loss I needed last minute alterations and they did them perfectly.
9. Hotel Block- Radisson New Rochelle - A+- Glenia Rojas at the Radisson was such an angel. She helped me when my guests were stressing me out and helped to get my guests the early check in I needed. She called me in the room several times that day just to see how I was doing. She also gave me a really nice room.
10. Limos and photobooth - Nowstar Limo - A- Limos were clean and on time and the drivers were extremely professional. The photobooth was also a HUGE hit and they charged far less than anyplace else I checked out. People are still raving about how fun the Limo bus was.
10. Venue- Elite Palace, Woodside, NY - This one is tough. Had Lauren not been there to make sure everything was just right they would have scored lower. I give them a A-. The place looked gorgeous (again I dont have to many pictures to show) but a lot of things I discussed with Enzo the banquet manager had to be fought for the day of the wedding because Enzo was not there. Regardless, everything was beautiful and even some of my vendors commented on how amazing everything looked.
11. Photo/Video- Dreamlife Wedding Photography - Pending - Haven't seen any photos yet but I'll be sure to keep you ladies posted.
