Hi ladies. It seems like this board is a great place for advice and the occasional reality check. I already filled out the Intro thing, but I thought I'd give a little more background info...
I've been with BF for 4.5 years. We're at the stage where we're talking about our future, deciding on timelines, etc. We're likely aiming for marriage within the next 2-3 years, depending on financial stability and such. I graduated from college about a year and a half ago and he graduated last year. I'm originally from Alabama but I recently moved to BF's home country, Italy. It only seemed like a fair move, since he stayed in the States for me the past 4 years.
I've tended to be a little anxious to get engaged, especially in the earlier stages of our relationship, but I know it's better to wait until we're financially secure. Right now I'm trying to relax and enjoy the great adventures we're having.
And that's my relationship in a nut shell. Looking forward to joining in the discussions.

[QUOTE]We could always use another level head, which it seems like you've got. Me thinks there may now be enough internationals to form a seemingly harmless faction that plots to take over the board...hmmm...Seriously though? Welcome :-)

[QUOTE]Hi and welcome! Tell us more about Italy! What area are you in? What do you both do there? Are you planning to stay long term? Do you speak Italian? Oh, and feel free to also keep whatever to yourself. I'm generally pretty private and try not to pry too much, but Italy is just too fantastic not to want to hear more. :)

Yeah, Italy is pretty amazing. I came here with BF for the first time 4 years ago and just fell in love with the place. I'm living in Rome, which is the perfect place for me because I'm an artist and this city is just bursting with art history. I'm also a tour guide, a job that I love. BF is a translator and substitute teacher. I'm learning Italian veeeeery slowly... but I know enough to get around. BF is Italian, but he always speaks English with me, so I haven't quite learned the language yet. I'm really liking living here, but I admit I do get homesick for the States. I envy you guys with your easy access to public restrooms! (If you ever visit Rome you'll know exactly what I'm talking about)
Oh, and the foreign domination plot sounds fun ;) I'm always up for a good takeover
[QUOTE] - do you like being a tour guide? I was thinking about doing that here for a part-time job.

I love it! It's one of the best jobs I've ever had... but then, I'm an art history nerd :)
