Help!!! Should bridesmaid dress match flowers???

Hey Ladies! So I need your help I've hit a wall with creativity with all the planning and can't seem to decide. So I am doing centerpieces like this at my reception. Its in July (a day wedding) and the sunflowers are a must because they are important to my fiances family. I'm planning on doing some type of yellow flowers for the girls to hold. I absolutely LOVE the flowers hence I really dont want to change them....my question is do the bridesmaid have to match the centerpieces?

So the issue at hand is I always assumed I would pick a vibrate blue since its summer and it matches the flowers so perfectly. I found this bill levkoff which I really liked its light and flowy which is a must for July!

But then today I was shopping for dresses still and came across this iridescent sky blue bari jay dress. My sister loves it claims its light as a feather and it is very summery but will it look ridiculous with the reception flowers? Anyone has any experience with irridescent dresses and how they photograph?

Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated! Thank you!!!

  • I like the second dress.

And no, your girls do not have to exactly match the flowers.  You don't want everything so matchy-matchy that all you see is a sea of blue and yellow.  Breaking up your color scheme a bit helps to make things a bit more interesting.

  • I like the second dress best for PP's reasons. Sure, things shouldn't clash, but not everything has to be blue or yellow.

  • Can you get the first dress in a color similar to the second one.  I really like that grey color but much prefer the style of the first dress because that one can actually be cut down to knee length and worn again.
