Reception Venue

Im looking for a reception venue that can hold about 300 people in the cleveland area. I would looooove if we could bring our own alcohol also! The look we are going for is elegant and classic but were not opposed to anything out doors. Were also trying to be modest in budget.
Any ideas and suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!!

Also, does anyone know if it is more economical to have an outdoor reception (with renting tent. chairs, tables, etc..) compared to renting a hall?

Thanks everyone!

St Michaels Woodside in Broadview Hts is very nice.  Their prices are not bad and you can bring your own alcohol.  I've been to several weddings and a few other event there and they do a great job.

Also, check out the Belarusan American Community Center in Strongsville. We had our reception there and loved it! The hall holds up to 300 and provides catering (VERY good food -- especially the Lemon Chicken) but you provide the alcohol. Cost is around $32/pp which includes a lot for the money. Also, they only do one party at a time, so no random strangers 'crashing' your party.  Gorgeous, huge, wooden dance floor, lovely chandeliers, etc. Some pics and link to their site in my knot bio.

I would think that comparing an all-inclusive indoor place to a DIY outdoor event (with various additional vendors/rentals involved) would depend on the location you have in mind.

Things to think about when considering an outdoor venue: rental fee (of course!), any additional permits needed (like for alcohol), hiring security, restrooms, tent (if no covered structure nearby as rain-backup), parking (if limited, you may need to rent a shuttle, too), dance floor rental (plus chairs/tables/linens), caterer (and possibly dishes/glassware/flatware if not included with catering company), etc. I'm sure I'm missing something.

    Hope that helps!

La-Vera in willoughby hills---we are bringing our alcohol, they supply the wash AND, you can find vendors that do the alcohol on "consignment"---so that way you don't run out, but don't get stuck with a bunch of extra booze :)

Michaud's in Strongsville is a good place to look. Good food, plenty of parking, and BYOB.

Not only do they let you bring in your own booze....but they were rated #2 on Fox 8's Hot List for "Best Cater 2010."

    I say it's a Win/Win situation =)

    Good Luck,
