  Oh ok. That was hard to tell from your post. It seemed like you really wanted her in black...so yeah, if she wanted to match, then I don't get why she is so apprehensive about it now. Weird. 

  
  

  And that is crazy about the rooms. You are not obligated to do that. You can block off rooms for guests to book at their discretion, which means they pay, and then the left over rooms get released after a certain date if no one books them, no cost to you or anyone. This is what I would have your FI do. Anyone traveling OOT should anticipate lodging costs in their expenses when they go to a wedding. Or your FMIL can pay for them. You should NOT have to pay for them up front. I wouldn't do that. But also don't let her make you feel like a bad host if you do not pay for their rooms. It is a nice gesture but by no means required.

  She can wear whatever she wants. If she wants to match, then you already did your part by telling her the appropriate color. Now it's up to her to do what she'd like with that information. 

  
  

  We're getting down to the wire now, so don't beat yourself up about these miniscule details that won't matter later. Have your FI deal with her.
