the right undergarments?

Looking for suggestions of where you have found your bridal undergarments and what style. My dress is strapless with a modified sweetheart and mermaid style. I usually wear a 34B. Strapless bra or something longer???

Re: the right undergarments?

  • I would try your local dept stores. You could go with a regular strapless or a long line bra. My dress had a built in corset with underwire cups, so I didn't even wear a bra.

I have seen longline bras at places like Kohl's, Macy's and Dillards.
  • If your dress will require any alterations, you might want to ask the seamstress about sewing cups right into the dress.  My daughter went for her alteration fitting with several purchased undergarment options.  The cups sewn right into the dress felt the best for her, and made the dress lay very nicely around the top of her bust.  The cost of the alterations was actually less than the undergarments she purchased.
  • I'd check the department stores too, like a pp mentioned. They won't be nearly as expensive as the bridal shops like to charge.
  • I am a 34B and had a sweetheart neckline.  I had cups sewn into my dress by my alterationist at the bridal salon.  She charged me $20 for the cups and labor. Well worth it IMO.  I'd get a quote from your alterationist.
  • I'd sew cups right in or skip the bra alltogether if you can!

  • Thanks for the input! I am definitely going to ask about having cups sewn in. That would be way easier.
