Casual/budget friendly venues on or near the water?

Hi Ladies,

My sister is currently in the wedding planning process. I planned my entire wedding based on recommendations from ladies on the knot boards, so I thought i'd try to help out my sister and reach out to you ladies once again!

She's looking for a casual wedding venue/restaurant thats very budget-friendly, on/near the water, with about 100-120 guests.

Her and her fiance really dislike the typical "cookie cutter" wedding venues. They're looking for something different, a little quirky, or out of the box if you will. It doesn't HAVE to be quirky, but definitely not banquet-hall-like.

Do you ladies know of any places that fit this description? Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance!!

Its a little cookie cutter, but the Elks at Bass Rocks located on the water (the ocean side) in Gloucester is very budget friendly and beautiful and I think a bit of hidden gem. After I got over the fact that it was an Elks club, I realized I wasn't going to find any where with that kind of view (a wall of window overlooking the ocean) that was also clean, nice and big enough for our guests (125ish) for that price (about $1000 to $2000 site fee depending on what day). Added bonuses include the fantastic events coordinator and cute north shore destination for our out of town guests. One downside so far has been there aren't really any large chain type hotels nearby to accommodate blocks of guests. Happy planning!
