Invites - When are you ordering them?

I'm just wondering when everyone is ordering their invites?

I'm the type of person that when I find a deal I want to capitalized on it. I'm stuggling with this in the invitation department. I want to take advantage of good deals when I see them, but I feel 8 months 3 weeks and 4 days(haha) is too soon to order invites.

What does everyone else think?

I already capitalized on my invitations by using Groupons and coupons codes through Vistaprint. I've had mine for months and I LOVE them. However, I haven't purchased save the dates yet. Go figure.

I can't order mine until after we do the tasting. We don't know what we're serving and we have information to include in the invitation that hasn't been nailed down. We picked our invitations and have our wording picked out, so it's just a matter of waiting on the "extra" stuff and RSVP cards.

We can do our tasting anytime now (well, 1/1/13) to June 1st. We both have to take a day off though and FI can't take any vacation time until March so it's going to be a while. His first available day we're going to go and figure it out so I can order everything. Yay!

This is something I was just thinking about. I want to order mine soon so I can get that expense out of the way, however I cannot find ANYTHING I even like, let alone love. I look about 2 times a week and I'm hoping to have them ordered by maybe March?

Ours are designed, I am just waiting on our printer to get back to us with paper choices -- I want something very specific. I also need to order my pocketfolds. I should do that pretty soon...

Along the same lines, I read that postage is increasing at the end of January. Anyone stocking up on Forever stamps before the increase?? I'm considering it!

I designed our myself. So I am just waiting to print them. As long as you have the space to keep them safe, and you are sure your details are set in stone, then I don't see a problem with getting them now. Just because you order them, doesn't mean you have to send them out right away.

I already made mine and sendt them all out. It feels SO good to have that out of the way. Mind you we skipped STDs and went straight to invites.
I figured that the information that is not set in stone right now I will post on our website and people can find it there. Most imp things in my eyes were location, time and when to RSVP.
I think if you find some you love, and you have some place to store them until you wanna send them out then go for it

We have picked our invites out and rsvp's out but we haven't ordered them yet we will soon. I just need to make sure that I like the wording and font and that I spelled everything correctly

I"m curious on this too. We kinda have ours picked out. (from wedding divas) But I am so nervous that I will screw them up that I haven't ordered them yet. I think I am going to research a local place to get them from. I'm willing to take on the extra expense for my peace of mind.

Yes, definitely!

Our invitation suite has been picked out for months (Etsy), but we're also stuck waiting for a few little details in order to finish the design. I'm going to be printing them myself, so I'm watching specials on cardstock very closely right now.

Will probably be ordering mine mid this month. They are custom made through an etsy company. So I am thinking they will take 3 months. and Then approx 1-2 weeks for shipment. That's 3 1/2 months so probably get them mid-march, early april. Oh and she is great in pricing. I think I am paying under $500 for Invites, RSVPs, Information Cards, Food choice cards, programs, and thank you stationary and probably another choicce, I know i am forgetting one. Etsy is a budget saver for sure!

I just ordered our STD and invites a few days ago and they should be here soon. We will wait awhile though before we send out the invites. I also used the groupon for Vista print so I couldn't pass up the deal.

I ordered our STDs back in November using a Vistaprint Groupon since I figured we'd be sending them out in late January.

I ordered our invites in late December and they just got here this week

I ordered them this early primarily because my mother had a Vistaprint Groupon that she wanted me to use and it was about to expire. Also, my job is pretty hectic and its only going to get more crazy as the wedding approaches. So the more I can do now, the better.

PS - I love my Vistaprint invites. The quality of the printing and stock is top notch. I highly recommend them.
