what the french toast?

my Secret Clinical Strength is failing me.  WHY DO MY ARMPITS SWEAT SO MUCH?  I don't smell bad (because I'm a delicate flower) but I feel not-so-fresh under the arms!  halp.  Clinical Strength was my last hope.

  • Time to move onto the crystals.

  • Armpit removal is your only choice.

I hate to tell you this, but if this is an issue now, be prepared for body odor of death during pregnancy.
  • That clinical strength crap didn't work for me either.  And then I felt like a sucker for paying a bajillion dollars for it
  • Really? I haven't noticed any sweat or odor increase. I should ask my H.

  • hmm, maybe it is a southern thing. both buddha and I are plagued.
  • I'm with PG...OrangeWinged, perhaps it's just that your sense of smell is 87% more acute when pregnant (this was absolutely the case for me).

  • Oh yes, that I have noticed.

Winger, I'm calling you and Buddha the SwampPit Sisters from now on. Just FYI.

  • yeah, $8 for a wee stick of deoderant?  blerg.

I have heard that sweat increases while pregnant.  I will eventually need mini swimming pools for my feet, which sweat more than my armpits.  I normally run kind of hot anyway, which is why I was TRYING to have a mostly-pregnant-during winter/spring baby but nooooooooooo.

  • Tasty, have you tried Certain Dri? Some of my swamp-pitted friends swear by it.

  • I'm a lurker, but I have some advice!!  The Degree clinical strength works better than the Secret clinical in my opinion.... (I'm in the South, too)

If you think pregnancy is bad, just wait until just after you have the baby!  Oh my lands, I thought I was going to spontaneously combust those first few months post-partum.  I was fine during the day, but sleeping was the worst.  I'd constantly wake up in a pool of sweat.  I don't anymore though, so it must be a hormonal thing.
  • Maybe it is the sense of smell. BUt Idrip with sweat at night and that is when I notice it.
  • I am a lurker with swamp pits, and Certain Dri works for me too! Secret Clinical strength did absolutely nothing. I put Certain Dri on like 2x a week before bed, and wear regular deoderant during the day.

  • Tasty, I believe your average body temperature is increasing rapidly because you're becoming a werewolf.

  • I use Mitchims (sp??) it seems to work for my sweaty pits.
  • TEAM JACOB!

I will need to try Degree clinical and I'll give Certain-dri a whirl too.  Thanks for the recommendations.  I have always been a Secret wearer since my early days of Teen Spirit but I think it's time for a brand change.

  • I've always used Secret, too, but I went to the store one day and they were out of the clinical, so I figured what the hell, I'll try something new.  The Degree works MUCH better!  Hope this helps!

  • None of that works for me. I have some prescription stuff from my doctor. It works ok. I really want Botox pits, but I'm not sure insurance covers it.

  • my H needs botox jaw (it's being used to treat severe TMJ and seems to work) and I know this is so STUPID, but I just imagine them testing their botox on all those poor animals and it makes me sad.  Yessss, suuuuuure, it would drastically improve H's quality of life.  BUT THE MONKEYS.

I think the only solution to my pitt issue may be to cut circle holes in my shirts/sweaters where the pitt is. My main issue is when it wets the shirt and people can tell.  No shirt = no tell.  Problem, solved.

  • I'm a Certain Dri believer, as is Mike. I think Secret sucks.  I like Dove.

  • Sounds like you should give vests a whirl, Tasty.

  • vests!  duh.  thanks, Moo.  my only issue with that is that I won't look as cute as Maggie in mine.  oh, and that it's probably usual to wear a shirt under them?  right?

  • Not if you get a formal vest, Tasty:

  • Oooh that is sassy, Rose. Tasty could rock that no problem. Then she could be fancy AND pitstain free!

  • oh, that's fabulous! I saw a formal vest like that for little dogs at Big Lots when I was in STL w. the girls.  I tried to find one in Milhouses' size, but they were all too big. : (

  • I wish that I could sweat from my pits like a normal person.  All of my sweat comes out of my face.  No way to cover that up.  Stupid genes.
  • Certain dri is magic.

  • You can get botox for TMJ?  WANT!  I'm going in in Feb for botox to get rid of the line between my eyebrows from frowning.  I will ask about this TMJ Botox thing.
