Rockwood Carriage House

Has anyone had their wedding or is planning to have their wedding at the Rockwood Carriage House? From what I've seen, I absolutely love the venue and would have our reception there in a heartbeat yet it seems like they charge you for everything -- apparently the dishes, silverware, cups, etc. which seems kind of silly... is this true? Did the price of everything they charge you for end up adding up to a lot or was it fairly reasonable?

Just looking for some feedback from anyone who can help & share their experiences :) Thanks!

i had my wedding there in June. they do charge for linens & dishes (not silly at all), but it's through diamond state rental. & they're prices are fair i paid about $500 for all my rental items (linens, silverware, dishes, glasses,...). any & all chairs & tables (doesn't include the white lawn chairs or the gold spindle ones, those are rented through diamond state) are free. they also supply some decorations for the cocktail hour for free. honestly their service was impeccable! i couldn't have been more pleased! my total cost with them (including: rentals, food, services, & cake [up to $3 worth per slice, u pay the extra design costs to sweets to you by ginger, who were also amazing!]) came out to about $2,600 which was loads better than other places i checked. the food alone was only $40pp for a chicken meal and 1 hot hors deuvre with the cheese, fruit, & veggie trays. & the greenery caterers are 1 of The Best caterers in DE. 1 of the only things they don't supply is alcoholic beverages, but i found that to make things cheaper for myself. they do have a bartender in their staffing though.

if there's anything else u'd like to know feel free to ask ^_^

I'm getting married there in March, and so far.. they're at least up front about the costs.  Basically, you view it as three different things -  facility rental, catering costs, and then the rentals.  What's considered pricey, well that's in the eye of the beholder, but I've found the cost to be the same or below the other venus in the area (and we must have looked at about a dozen!).  They're definitely worth checking out and having a conversation with Craig.  If you tell him your budget, he'll work with you to get an estimate that fits into it.

exactly ^_^ for example, they let us cut out 2 of the hot hor 'deuvres, & let us have the ceremony inside for free instead of paying for it to be outdoors. they really understand that making u happy drives up their business (really wish other vendors understood that)
